“Enjoyed the course and learned lots!” – Evaluating Tenders – Pontefract

Evaluating Tenders

Today’s Evaluating Tenders event in Pontefract was a chance to learn from the experience of evaluating NHS tenders for clinical services. In the past few years I’ve written, edited, challenged or presented successful NHS tenders for four counties of Child and Adolescent Mental Health services, Addictions Services, Children’s Speech and Language Therapy, Eating Disorders and Improving Access to Psychological Therapies among many others.

What have you learned in particular?

The evaluation comments from today’s event include (with written permission gratefully received):

“Conflict of interest.”Christopher Bowes, Senior Buyer, York Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

“Carrying out a process ‘back to front’ to ensure all areas covered and clear.”Eve Ramsay, Procurement Officer, Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust

“The full evaluation process and ways of working through process – i.e. working backwards.”
Carl Smith, Senior Finance Manager, Leeds West CCG

“Helped me have more consideration for the impact of conflict resolution. Understanding the scoring criteria to ensure it meets the requirements of the service.”Andy Holland, Purchasing Manager, Humber NHS Foundation Trust
