“Best workshop I have attended. Fantastic delivery style!”

Making the Business Case

The quality of business cases made in the NHS is very patchy. I’ve seen some wonderful examples but all too often the plans and cases I see have a total lack of thorough analysis. Making the Business Case is a 1-day event which takes clinicians, managers and accountants through a logical process to create the most effective case possible. It was a pleasure to be back at the Cedar Court Hotel in Wakefield to be running the event again with an enthusiastic group.

Here are some of the delegate comments from the evaluations (reproduced with kind written permission from each delegate):

“Excellent course! Very in depth and relavent to current NHS activity.” Rachael Melia, Health Central Centre Manager, City Healthcare Partnership
“So refreshing to be kept interested from start to finish (even after lunch!) in such a dry subject. Would definitely recommend. The person I’ve replaced on the workshop will be very annoyed and it was funny too!”Pat Lunness, Head of Finance – Strategic Development, NHS Sheffield
“Brilliant day. Very motivational delivery.”Alison Burns, Lead Technologist, Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust
“Best workshop I have attended.. Fantastic delivery style!”Amanda Hodgson, Modern Matron, Medicine, Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust
“Excellent course, building on experience and adding value to it. Good business practice put into NHS perspective.”Bob Kirton, Head of Business Change, Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
“Absolutely fantastic! Do you work with organisation’s teams?” Andrea Cadwell, Manager – Specialist Stop Smoking Service, South West Yorkshire NHS Partnership Foundation Trust
“Thoroughly enjoyed the day. I have a meeting set up next month which will serve well as an opportunity to complete an external analysis.”Ann Gleadhill, Service Manager, Humber NHS Foundation Trust
“Really good informative day.”Gill Harnes, Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust
“Very well explained taught session. Interactive. Useful info for me to business case writing and planning.”Christine Morris, Matron, York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
“Excellent very useful day. Feel confident to pull together my first business plan.”Paul Corlass, Financial Controller, Humber NHS Foundation Trust
“Excellent day, well presented in an informative and very interesting manner. Very useful that the presentations are then provided via memory stick.”Fiona Kaye, Senior Sister, Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust
“Time well spent – feel more confident to put a second business forward.”Debbie Hellowell, Head of Administrative Services, Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust

Many thanks to everyone who attended. I look forward to the next time!
